Zadar

Lovely city to stroll around, with historical treasures on every corner. I particularly enjoyed listening to the world's first sea organ, which is constructed into the quayside at the tip of the old town peninsula.

Zadar is the gateway to many of the islands of central Dalmatia, so you will pass through it if you need a ferry to any of these. However, do make sure you give yourself at least a couple of hours to look around before getting on the boat: Zadar is too good to miss!
