The island of Goli Otok in Croatia was used as a high-security, top secret prison and labour camp run by the authorities of the former Yugoslavia under Tito. It was abandoned in 1989 and has been left untouched since then, creating a uniquely atmospheric view of what life must have been like for an 'enemy' of a Communist state. The island can be visited today on day trips from the nearby holiday island of Rab. I visited the island in the summer of 2013 and took these photos...

Was it Marshal Tito or Admiral Tito? I think it was Marshal but I am not sure! Gosh though pretty nasty communists, my dad said when he went inter railing and went to near Greece he looked into Yugoslavia and wondered what went on in there as virtually no-one was allowed in or out!
